The longest submarine cable in the world will be 2Africa, supported by Facebook.
The longest undersea cable system ever laid will be the Facebook-backed 2Africa project. The cable, which connects Africa, Europe, and Asia, will be 45,000 kilometres long once the most recent 8,000 kilometres of extension are included. A group of carriers, in addition to the social media behemoth, are supporting 2Africac. Three billion people in 33 nations will be served by the cable.
